Katrina Groves-Rehwaldt, MD

Dr Katrina Groves, Originally from the southern California area, graduated from the medical school of Pennsylvania in 1989 and returned to California for her 3 years of residency in Family practice. In August of 1992, she relocated to Del Norte County under the National Health Service corps program. She and her husband (Dr. Rehwaldt) planned to serve their time and move on, but soon found they loved the area. With its unspoiled beauty of oceans and redwoods, and the absence of smog or traffic and other “big city” problems, they decided to stay and raise a family.
Dr. Groves has been dedicated to the under served patients of our area and to the Open door clinic for over 15 years. Her special interests in medicine include women’s health and she is a member of the American society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. She is also certified with the American Academy of Pain Management. In her leisure time she enjoys making and firing her own pottery, learning to play the viola, hiking in the redwoods, and swimming the rivers and ocean with her two sons. She feels privileged to care for and be a part of her patients’ lives.
