Tara White, MSW, LCSW

Tara returned to college later in life to pursue the field of counseling, which had become her “calling.” She graduated from California State University, Sacramento in 1992 receiving a Master’s Degree with honors in Social Work, specializing in mental health. She interned in Susanville for Lassen County Mental Health for two years, obtaining her California license in social Work in 1995.

In her 20’s, Tara built a custom bikini business in Laguna Beach and took time to start a family. Before her return to college, she was a medical secretary at both UC Davis and Stanford.

Tara currently counsels patients who need to better cope with stress, depression, anxiety, losses, pain, or to come to grips with a medical or relationship issue. She works closely with the patient’s physician to enhance a more complete treatment plan for overall health. She is fully trained in EMDR, a technique to desensitize trauma, and implements a HeartMath biofeedback program.

Tara worked in Mt. Shasta, McCloud and Dunsmuir medical clinics before moving to Crescent City with her husband in 2005. She enjoys cooking and making handmade greeting cards.
