Heart of the Redwoods Community Hospice serves the people of Southern Humboldt County, a rural area of nearly 3,000 square miles. Our patient care staff and volunteers are dedicated to supporting families in providing the care needed to allow patients to die in their homes with the people they love nearby. We also offer support to people who are facing life-threatening illness and those who are bereaved.
We have chosen to operate outside the Medicare licensed hospice system, allowing us to serve our patients with greater flexibility and humanity. Our services are free of charge and funded entirely by donations, gifts, fundraising events, and small local grants.
